Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information JM Sales collects, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. Last updated September 2026.

1. Who we are

JM Sales is a sole trader business selling authentic Stone Island and C.P. Company clothing online, on Tilt, and from our store at Steel Yard, Bardwell Road, Sheffield, S3 8AS.

We are the data controller for the information described in this policy. If you want to talk to us about your data, email ja***@******ss.com and it comes straight to me.

2. What we collect

When you place an order we collect your name, email address, billing address, delivery address and phone number, along with a record of what you bought.

When you message us through the contact form, WhatsApp or Instagram we collect your name, your contact details and whatever you tell us in the message.

When you sign up to the mailing list we collect your email address, and your phone number if you opt in to text updates.

When you browse the site we collect technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, through cookies and similar technology.

We do not see or store your full card number. Card details are handled directly by our payment provider.

3. Why we use it

To take payment, pack your order and get it delivered to you.

To answer your questions, send measurements and deal with returns.

To send you marketing about new stock, discounts and Tilt streams, where you have asked us to.

To keep the site secure, block spam and prevent fraud.

To keep the accounting records we are legally required to keep.

4. Our legal basis

Where we are processing your order, our basis is performance of a contract with you.

Where we send you marketing or set non-essential cookies, our basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Where we keep the site secure and prevent fraud, our basis is our legitimate interests in running the business safely.

Where we keep tax and sales records, our basis is compliance with a legal obligation.

5. Who we share it with

We only share what is needed, and only with businesses that help us run the shop.

Payments. Card, Apple Pay and Google Pay payments are processed by WooPayments. They receive your name, contact details and payment information directly.

Delivery. Royal Mail receives your name, delivery address and contact details so they can deliver your parcel and give you tracking.

Email and SMS marketing. Mailchimp stores and sends our mailing list.

Hosting, backups and site security. Our host stores the site and its database. Jetpack and CleanTalk process technical data to provide statistics, security and spam filtering.

Shopping and advertising platforms. Where our products are listed through Google and Meta, those platforms receive product and site interaction data.

We do not sell your personal information to anyone, and we never will.

6. Cookies

Essential cookies keep your basket working and let you log in. These cannot be turned off without breaking the site.

Non-essential cookies help us understand how the site is used and measure advertising. These are only set with your consent, and you can change your mind at any time through the cookie settings on the site.

7. International transfers

Some of the providers listed above are based outside the UK, including in the United States. Where your information is transferred outside the UK, it is protected by the safeguards required under UK data protection law, such as approved standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.

8. How long we keep it

Order and payment records are kept for six years after the end of the relevant tax year, because HMRC requires it.

Marketing contact details are kept until you unsubscribe, after which we keep a minimal record so we do not contact you again by mistake.

Messages and enquiries are kept for as long as they are useful for customer service, then deleted.

9. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected if it is wrong, and to have it deleted where we no longer need it.

You can also ask us to restrict how we use it, object to us using it, ask for it in a portable format, and withdraw your consent to marketing at any time.

To exercise any of these, email ja***@******ss.com. We will respond within one month. There is no charge.

10. Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first and we will try to put it right.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

11. Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information we will update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant we will tell you directly.

12. Contact

Email ja***@******ss.com, or write to JM Sales, Steel Yard, Bardwell Road, Sheffield, S3 8AS.
